It's the Comex 2008!

In the blink of an eye, 3 months have passed and it's now time for another big IT fair. This time round, it's called the Comex 2008, where all sorts of appliances can be found under 1 fair. Plus it's one of the biggest fair ever, occupying the whole exhibition levels of Suntec City.

With such a crazy huge area to cover, certain measures must be taken so that I don't ended up getting lost amongst the numerous vendor stalls. One main thing that I'm going to catch at the fair is the MSI Wind's 6-cell battery.

I made my way down to Suntec City today, right after the official ending of the JCI audit. I felt that it was a waste of my time to attend this last day of audit as I don't see myself being useful to the audit. Yet my boss insisted I have to come back on this Saturday to fulfill whatever needs she sees.

In the end, all I did was nothing. I just remained at my desk, doing nothing but surfing the Internet since I was so bored. I don't intend to do any serious work at all since it's a weekend.

Right. Back to the Comex 2008.

By the time I managed to reach Corbell's booth, it was nearing 2.30pm. But I ended up getting disappointed as I was told there's no stock for the 6-cell battery and there's no pre-order list for it as well.

In the end, I ended up getting gadgets that were totally bought on the spur of the moment. See the pictures below.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T300 and accessories

A free dry box for my Sony camera

Nokia N95 8GB

Yep. I bought a camera AND a mobile phone. Right on the same day too. Crazy eh? I don't really know the reason why I bought the Sony camera. Perhaps I was just too frustrated with my Casio Exilim EX-&0, which couldn't give me excellent night shots.

So far, I have not tried out the Sony camera yet but I hope I won't ended up being disappointed again. By the way, it comes with 5x optical zoom as well. So perhaps in future I could capture better shots of those stars when I go to their concerts. Hmmm...

Anyway, I got lots of accessories to go with my Sony camera. It comes with 2 memory sticks with adaptors, 2 batteries, 1 cleaning kit, 1 mini-tripod, 1 leather casing, 1 dry box and a course for learning how to use Sony cameras effectively. All these for $499.

As for the nokia phone, it happened to be a good bargain as it was selling for $488 with a 2 year re-contract of my plan. Add to it the trade-in I got for my Sony Ericsson K800i, the phone only costs a cool $368, which is several hundreds cheaper than before.

Truly a good bargain, though many people at the Comex bought the iPhone instead. Guess iPhone's sexiness still works here. Almost everybody who got to Singtel counters had indicated they were purchasing the iPhone. I seem to be the only odd one out with a Nokia phone and an old model at that. But I have been hankering after this N95 8Gb for ages. Its price was the only factor that stopped me from buying. Paying $698 for a phone that's not the IT phone of the moment simply doesn't sway me.

Now it's a different story. Wee... I'm still trying to figure out how to use the phone as the functions are totally different from Sony Ericsson's version. Damn...

Overall, I am quite pleased with my purchase. So, till the next IT fair shall we meet again.

Tada....

Coffee Prince Actor Lee Eon Dies in Accident

Oh gosh. Yet another tide of bad news again.

This time round, it's korean actor Lee Eon of Coffee Prince fame.

According to this report, he was on his way home after a party when he crashed onto a guardrail of an overpass while riding his motorcycle.

He was 27 and a rising star in Korea at that. He became popular after appearing in Coffee Prince as a simple-minded but loveable Min Yub whose undying love had become a talking point in the show.

These days, stars often met with an untimely deaths and it has happened way too much. First, it was The Dark Knight's Heath Ledger who died of drug overdose. Then Harry Potter star Robert Knox was fatally knifed to death while trying to protect his brother from gang bullies. And now, this.

The entertainment world has suffered many terrible losses this year and both eastern and western artistes are not spared.

May their souls rest in peace.

K-Drama: No more Couple or Trouble... =(

Tonight is the last episode of Couple or Trouble on Channel U and I'm feeling very sad. Throughout its airing on TV, I enjoyed chasing and watching the korean drama as the interesting storyline ensnared my senses.

The whole story is centered around a woman named Anna Joh, who had lost her memory and was taken in by Jang Chul Soo. He's the guy without the yucky flowers in the above picture. Lots of fun and hilarious incidents ensued between them and soon love grew between them.

It was such a pleasure to watch this drama rather than Fann Wong's latest vehicle which had her screaming at the top of her voice all the time. I don't really like these kind of screaming dramas but Mediacorp seems only capable of producing such shows. Light-hearted dramas/comedies are more of my cup of tea and Couple or Trouble is one such good example.

One other thing also attracted my attention in this drama. Jajangmyun or black bean sauce noodles. The female lead is seen eating this dish frequently in the show and she makes it look so yummy. Just look at the way she eats below:

It certainly makes my tastebuds drools in anticipation. Alas! It's not easy to find authentic korean food in Singapore, so I could only feast my eyes on the seemingly yummy noodles on screen as well as in pictures. See below:

It might look yucky but from what I have read, it's actually a delicious dish. Oh boy, I couldn't wait to try them out. *drools*

If only I'm living in Korea right now.... that would be so good! Food, glorious food! Yum!!!

Ruthless Lee Bee Wah!

I had the misfortune of coming across a very unpleasant news in the newspapers today.

It was reported that the manager and the coach of Team Singapore Table Tennis had been sacked, days just before they were due to return to Singapore to celebrate their victory at winning the Olympic silver medal in Beijing.

This decision was revealed to be made by the President of Table Tennis Association, Lee Bee Wah, who had just been at the post for around a month.

This damn woman had blamed the defeat of Singapore's top paddler Gao Ning to a Croatian player on the coach as well as the manager. Just because the actual coach for Gao Ning, Chen Jian, had fallen sick, and there was no one else by his side during the match doesn't mean that the coach had to be dismissed in such a way.

At the very least, she should investigate the cause of the problem and then meted out punishment accordingly. However, no checks seemed to have been conducted before the public dismissal of the coach and manager. That is a very bad example for the rest of Singapore to learn from.

It shows that there is zero tolerance for mistakes committed in this society, which had prided itself as a modern city with open thinking concept.

I don't really know who this Lee Bee Wah is but judging from the news reports, she appears to be a very harsh woman and that reflects badly on the majority of women here. The table tennis team had not yet returned to Singapore and their homes when they were slapped with such depressing news. No matter what, they did helped Singapore to clinch a silver medal to do us proud. Isn't that enough to redeem them at the very least?

Is there a high standard being set for the sports arena in Singapore? If so, it should be reviewed immediately lest future young players are discouraged by such cruel standards. I doubt the sports stars of China are subjected to such torture and humiliation, in public no less.

In addition, it was obvious that the coach's and the manager's feelings weren't taken into consideration. There they were in Beijing, anticipating their return to Singapore to celebrate their team's win at the Olympics Games. Then all of a sudden, the earth came crashing down on them, bearing terrible tidings for them from home. No more celebrations. No more jobs. No more glory. Everything's gone. Oh how fickle-minded fate can turn out to be.

They are supposed to return home as heroes. Now they are returning home with disgrace. Is that their reward for bringing the silver medal to Singaporeans? Don't they deserve a properly conducted and thorough investigation for this? Don't they deserve an explanation for this?

If not, then the whole of Singapore deserve a thorough and proper explanation from Lee Bee Wah. Just because she's the MP for Ang Mo Kio doesn't mean that she can dismiss her responsibility with a "let's move on" statement in the press. I doubt that is the way Lee Hsien Loong would want his charge to behave.

Let's hope the tide will turn in this saga and for Singapore to advance forward on to great success, with a great team in tow.

It's 10 Years Since...

It was 10 years ago when Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was first published to worldwide fame.

Now Scholastic is celebrating the 10th anniversary for the first Harry Potter book. Time truly flies and even I didn't realise that it's been 10 long years ever since the series was first started by J K Rowling.

Too bad I can't join in the celebration as I don't live in New York city, the headquarters of Scholastic.

Nonetheless I am happy that the Harry Potter series has come so far in its journey and even though the last book has been released, I still can't bear to let go of the series and the fantasy world which Rowling has created.

Everything about the Harry Potter universe has been so wonderful and for me, I will treasure my Harry Potter books no matter what.

Long live Harry Potter and J K Rowling!

=D

A fantastic night for Beijing

At last, good things have to come to an end and the Beijing Olympics 2008 is no exception. I had just watched the live telecast of the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics 2008 on Starhub and every single bit of the show made me felt so proud of being a Chinese although after a while, that feeling abandoned me as I realised that I'm not a true blue China Chinese.

I'm a Singaporean Chinese but watching the Beijing Olympics has made me feel as though I'm teleported to China. The whole ceremony was so cool and beautiful. International stars such as Wang Lee Hom, Jackie Chan, Andy Lau and even David Beckham came to the ceremony.

FYI, Beckham came with the contigent for Great Britain as it will be the host for the next Olympics Games, which is to be held in 2012 in London. This shall be the third time that London has hosted the Olympics Games and the world waits in anticipation on what it will bring, especially after the unexpected tremendous success of the Beijing Games.

Tonight truly belongs to the Chinese people and it will be remembered forever as having the best Games in history of the modern era. Several world records and olympics records were broken throughout the 16 days of glory.

1 man shall be remembered as the greatest olympian: Michael Phelps with his 8 golds haul.

1 country shall be remembered as the greatest gold medals holder: China with 51 golds to boot.

1 team shall be remembered as the second best in table tennis: Team Singapore, which won a silver medal in 48 years.

Everything about the Olympics 2008 has been nothing short of fantastic and everybody knows it. It shows a brand new China to the world. Now it's up to the world to embrace the new China of the modern day.

For remembrance sake, I had taken pictures of the ceremony showing on TV. Go to this album for the shots. They aren't great but at least I'm happy that I have got something to show for the next generation. That I've got a piece of history with me.

Enjoy... Cherish.

And now, onwards to London 2012.

Raining non-stop once more

For the past few days, the weather has been pretty bad. Rain has been coming on strongly for hours on end and it show no signs of stopping either.

As it's the weekends, I can just stay at home without venturing outside. It's nice to be able to spend time alone by myself without any troubles nor worries. Besides, I have very few friends and most of these friends usually have other engagements to tend to, so I'm pretty much a loner these days.

Well, at least for now I have my MSI Wind by my side and the rain outside to keep me company. It's pathetic but that's how my life goes.

Weird caller and he's out of luck too!

Earlier in the day, I received this weird call from a guy whom I had thought to be one of those numerous vendor supplying medical equipments for our company.

Of all timings, he chose to call at a time when I was having lunch outside. Then the sound quality of his phone was so bad that I totally had no clue on what he was yakking about. The generic brief I got from him was that he would be coming over to my company for some delivery.

As it turned out later, it was a misunderstanding right from the start and he had dialled my number by mistake. He wanted to send his speakers for repairs and dialled my number instead. *sighs*

So 9181 9039, whoever you are, I'm sorry but you are truly out of luck. Wahahahaha!!!

Michael Phelps is the Greatest Olympian!

Michael Phelps

Finally history has been created and a great star is born. As reported here, Michael Phelps of USA had won his eighth gold of the year. That is an astounding feat, considering that the best record was held by Mark Spitz with 7 gold medals won in a single Olympic year.

Now no one can write off Phelps as the greatest swimmer of all time. The best one ever. Along with Roger Federer, he has become my latest sports hero. His achievements are simply superb and I am in awe of his swimming prowess in the water. If only I could have a third of his swimming ability, that would be so nice. At least I can save myself from drowning in water. *sighs*

Anyway, my hats are off to Michael Phelps and kudos to him for getting so many medals.

Go, Michael, go!!!

Singapore won an Olympics Silver!!!!

Fresh from the largely predictable table tennis women team match, Singapore came off with a nicely earned Silver medal in the Beijing Olympics 2008.

The match was shown live on Starhub's Ch 605 and I managed to tuned in on time to catch the match between China and Singapore. Both mum and dad also stayed to watch the match although the dad went out of the house during the middle of the match.

First up was Singapore's Feng Tianwei against China's Wang Nan. Feng fought bravely in the first round but subsequently lost at the end of the round. Wang Nan is simply too good with her long shots and Feng had no defence against that.

Second up was Singapore's Li Jiawei against China's Zhang Yining. This match is a no-brainer as it's clear who would be the winner. Zhang is way, way too strong for Jiawei to compete against her. She's the world number 1 in the table tennis rankings after all. Our Jiawei crashed out without posing a real threat to Zhang Yining at all. Just like that fateful match 4 years ago.

Third up was a group match. Singapore's pair was Li Jiawei and Wang Yuegu whereas China's pair was Zhang Yining and Guo Yue. Now, both Zhang and Guo are ranked world number 1 and 2 respectively in the rankings and it's clear who will win this round.

As expected, China took home the gold and you don't get prizes for guessing it right either. But it was a moment of pride that arose when the Singapore flag was raised above the podium. That was a moment for the whole nation to savour.

The last time the flag was raised during the Olympics was 48 years ago. It was to be a long wait before the next medal comes along. Boy, I'm glad that it happened in my lifetime. It was a joy to behold. That final moment of victory...

To be honest, Singapore could seriously get a shot at the gold but Li Jiawei threw a lot of precious points to China and there goes the gold. Perhaps it's really not meant for us now.

What we could do now is to celebrate the hard-earned silver. The rest can wait.

Cheers!

HP Half Blood Prince Release Date Changed!

Oh no! The release date for the latest Harry Potter film has been pushed back! The website for the movie now reflects the new date as July 17, 2009.

That is a sad news for me as I have been waiting for a long time for the movie to be released. But there's nothing that we can do except to continue waiting for the movie to come to the cinemas. Many fans are upset at the sudden change but what could we do? Many cried foul but Warner Bros stands by its change.

I can only hope that time will pass by quickly so that I can watch the film.

=(

It's raining heavily now *sighs*

The weather has not been so good these few days. Most of the time, it would be raining heavily and it's hard to get out anywhere as traffic jams would mount upon the descent of the rain.

Now the rain is coming non-stop in my area and only god knows how long it will take to finish up whatever water droplets it has in those big clouds.

Yet to me, it's soothing and seems to cool myself efficiently. I like the sound of rain and I personally prefer rainy days to sunny days.

Being indoors all day when I'm not working has partly contributed to the liking of rain factor. With no one else to go out with, being at home is the most favourite pastime that I like to do in my free time. Having the rain means having a companion too. Its sounds soothes my nerves and calms me down. The smell of rain makes me feel refreshed and light-headed.

In short, I love the rain and hopes that it likes me back too. *sighs*

Shameless People on Internet

It's been quite some time ever since that fateful posting from a certain netizen called billovee, whose post about getting a free 6-cell battery from Corbell received numerous flames from the hardwarezone community.

Now, he's back with yet another ridiculous post which can even be construed as slander, if things were to get extremely bad. I have put his post below:

This guy is so adamant about getting his 6-cell battery that he has no qualms about destroying both Corbell's and Digital Life's integrity just to get his wish granted.

Bribery is a serious crime in Singapore and if this matter were to get reported to CASE, it could result in a terrible press coverage for both Corbell and Digital Life, even if they are eventually found to be innocent of any charges.

This billovee is super shameless and he has certainly made many netizens feel utterly disgusted at his behaviour. There is no such thing as free lunch in this world, don't he understand this very basic human concept?

All I can say is that this guy has no shame and moral in his life teachings.

Used battery or not, it's up to Corbell's discretion on whether they want to issue any free batteries to anybody who bought the MSI Wind. I say, if the guy is so adamant about getting his 6-cell battery, then he should sell off his Wind and get a Asus EEE Pc, which currently offers a 6-cell battery in the 1000H series.

In any case, I hope this guy stops showing up at the forum to create a din because it's not going to do anybody any good at all.

Shameless indeed.

Gimme a Break!

Oh my god. I didn't expect things to turn out so bad.

Well. Ok, I may have just exaggerate things a bit too much here. Anyway, I am just pissed off at having wasted my time listening to hogwash earlier on in the afternoon.

Ops. I better hope my colleagues don't come across this post. Hahaha!!

Ok... it's not really hogwash but the topics touched on were so boring that I didn't pay much attention to it. It's the CEO's special town hall speech and I ought to give him some credit but... his monotonous voice is not doing any miracles to my tired ears.

Such a special occasion deserved a better treatment than the one I gave. Oh, what did I do? Absolutely nothing. I was already dozing off towards the middle of the speech.

Yep.... sleeping in full view of the CEO. Damn, I'm good, aren't I? Of all the things that I dare to do, it has to be falling asleep in front of the CEO's speech party. I know I'm bad but what's done can't be undone.

Let's hope I can survive the rest of my time at this company, shall we?

Frustrated with Lil Green Patch!

I am very frustrated with Lil green Patch's numerous glitches and today's glitch is the worst. This is what I got when I logged on to my patch just now:

--

Your (Lil) Green Patch has more than 200 plants and is at risk if you make any changes to it. Please don't accept any more plants, sell plants in Marketplace or buy plants in the Store till this message stops showing up above your (Lil) Green Patch. We are working to fix the issue. Thanks for your patience.

--

I don't understand why they had to set a limit of 200 hundred plants to every patch. The main goal for the application is to get more plants sent so that sponsors would donate money to save the rainforests. So, the more you send, the more money you raise.

Yet they are setting this limit which will restrict users from sending more plants. This defeats the purpose of saving the rainforests through the use of this application. This is in addition to the annoying acceptance of plants requests on a click by click basis. This is simply a big waste of time and now with the limits set, this application has lost its appeal for me.

Initially, when I was playing this application, I was so in love with it as the plants were cute and I get to contribute to a good cause.

Now everything has changed and it remains to be seen whether the developers will listen to the users' comments and improve the application. Otherwise I will no longer use the application.

Super rude SBS driver, damn!

I had the misfortune of running onto a super rude SBS driver just now. He made me so mad. Mad enough to write my complaint to several papers, including SBS feedback form, STOMP, The New Paper and Today.

My complaint is posted below:

--

I had a very unpleasant encounter on SBS bus service 228, SBS 3640 J, at 7pm on 11 Aug 08. I thought I had tapped my ez-link card successfully and so I proceeded to the back of the bus to sit down. I was given a rude shock when the bus driver came to me and demanded my ez-link.

The problem is, he chose to confront me when every passenger had boarded the bus. I ended up getting rude stares and comments from all the passengers and furthermore, the driver took my card away and only returned it after he drove the bus on a long journey. I was lucky that my destination was only slightly further than that.

Shouldn't the bus driver be telling the passenger at that moment when the tapping failed, rather than wait for all the other passengers to board and then make a big confrontation show just to prove his point? If a tapping fails, there would be no beep sound and I'm sure the driver would be alert enough to catch that. The driver was simply too tactless and it was clear that he was out to shame people publicly. Is this how SBS drivers should conduct themselves in public?

In addition, when he returned my card, he commented out loud that next time I should tap my card if i want to board a bus. Is he trying to shame me further? Or is this the direction given by SBS on how the drivers behave towards the public? I wasn't given a chance to explain myself.

There are times when ez-link cards failed on you and that is an honest mistake. Not tapping the card at the front doesn't automatically means that you are trying to evade paying the bus fare. Unless SBS can guarantee that every single ez-link card in Singapore is working perfectly and shouldn't be encountering any tapping problems, otherwise they should discipline their bus drivers more strictly. We are not paying bus fares to get a lousy ride.

--

I don't know whether my letter will get published as it seems to be a mere petty case. But I will strive to post my complaints all over the Internet until I get a favourable response from SBS Transit.

Knowing SBS's past experience, they usually just sweep aside the case with a simple reply saying that they will send the driver for counseling. This shows how inefficient the company is when dealing with recalcitrant drivers. This is not the first time I wrote in to complain about their bus services.

In the end, the service never improves and with SBS being the monopoly in the transportation industry, there will be more woes for commuters.

dblO Fun!

Right after the concert, both mayi and I headed off to dbl O for a night of dancing.

It had been quite a while since the last time we went to dbl O. Our usual haunts are either MOS or Phuture. I used to enjoy clubbing at MOS but lately it's getting way too crowded and the kind of people who gather there are not your friendly type too. They jostled around you while you are trying to dance and it's not pleasant at all.

Initially, mayi wanted to go MOS but I suggested dbl O since xin always go there for clubbing and I am getting really tired of MOS.

Well, dbl O indeed did not disappoint. For one thing, the drinks are cheap and the music is great. I had a good time dancing to many familiar songs like Backstreet's Back, Baby One More Time, Umbrella and The Way I Are.

So many good songs in such a short span of time really made my night. Though at first mayi wasn't feeling very well after we had our tequila shots. Hmmm... probably she wasn't used to the tequila used. I don't know but probably MOS used a different brand of tequila. Heehee...

Nonetheless, she managed to recover on time for a round of fantastic dancing. The night would have been perfect except for a speck of dust that marred a bit of fun. A guy was trying to be funny with me and he thought he might get a chance in trying to get me into sexy dancing. Ha!

He got the wrong girl though. I just kept doing things the opposite way that he wanted me to do. He wanted a yes but I gave him a no. For one thing, he's way too short for my liking. Hahaha!!! Besides, good guys don't hang out at such places. Only jerks looking for a good time and easy prey come to this place. But hey I still got to give them some credit. At least they know when to back off.

Anyways, people go clubbing simply just to have fun. So do I. Only my fun is pure dancing. Wee!!!!

F.I.R. Concert! w00t!

Last night mayi and I went to F.I.R. first world tour concert at Singapore Indoor Stadium. Initially I hadn't taken notice of their concert but when mayi asked me whether I want to attend the concert, I agreed without hesitation.

When F.I.R. first came out in year 2004 with their debut album, I was immediately attracted by their unique music arrangement and Faye's excellent voice. I loved all the songs on the debut album and that was a first for me in recent years. Only Jay Chou has the ability to make fall in love with all his songs. ^_^

Now, fast forward to year 2008. With 4 albums under their belts, F.I.R. has indeed come a long way since their debut days. Their trial and errors with the experiments of music led them to their highs and lows in their music career but through it all, they gritted their teeth and might to finish their journey.

Last but not least, Faye and Real had found true love within each other and it was a joyous occasion when Real proposed to Faye last Christmas. Indeed, everyone had been so happy for the lovebirds and that love shone throughout the concert as well. I am very honored to be part of their joy.

For the most part, I sat quietly through the concert as my seating area is not the crazy fans' arena so thank god I was able to enjoy the concert in peace for the most part.

As expected, F.I.R. performed all the crowd favourite songs which had garnered them huge scale of popularity.

Lydia... Fly Away... Get High... so much more!

Faye looked respledent in her white costume and later when she changed into a gold costume, she truly looked like a queen who has come of age.

To see the pictures that I took during the concert, go to this link. Once again, the quality of the pictures are not that good as my camera does not take night shots very well. It totally sucked at that. Pui!

Then there's the zoom issue too. The 3x zooming feature is not enough to capture F.I.R. closely at all. The only one shot that was close had been based on digital zoom, not optical zoom, so the picture quality suffered. Damn...

Overall the concert was a rousing success for F.I.R. and fans couldn't have asked for more than this. Truly.

Dinner Celebration

Tonight, we had a dinner celebration by our fellow colleagues who had gotten promotion earlier this month. My boss had also gotten a promotion along with Doris and Ismie. So they decided to treat the whole department to dinner as a way of sharing their joy. Heee.... When there's good food, you can count on me to be around. Yum!!!

The restaurant that we went to was Bali Thai at IMM Building. Overall, the food was ok but it seems to be a popular restaurant among the people who live in the western part of the country. All of us had fun talking and eating through our dinner.

There was a mini-celebration of Veron's birthday and we took a picture of it as well.

We ended the night with full stomachs and headed straight for home. Since Sean lived in the eastern part of Singapore as me and Peishi, he drove us back home. Yeah, you read that right. We live in the east yet we went all the way to the west for dinner. It's a strange world but we'll make do with it.

See ya!

NDP 08 Preview Fireworks Video

All right, I finally got one of my fireworks files to upload onto my blog. Hope it works.

This video clip is just a short portion of the total fireworks display. My other bigger file is simply too big for any websites to upload, with its size tipping the scales at 278 MB.

Yep. It's a very big file due to its longer duration of 3 minutes and 50 seconds. That is truly awesome with lots of fireworks exploding in the night air, with the financial business district in the background to complete the picture.

Hope this small video is able to share some of the nationalistic atmosphere to the reader.

Happy National Day! Cheers! =)

My National Day 2008 Preview

Finally the day has arrived!

The day where I will be catching the National Day Parade live for the 1st time in my life as an audience. My effort in balloting for the NDP 08 Preview tickets for the 1st time yielded good results.

And so, I went to the preview with my friend, Mayi aka Angeline Chew yesterday. We met up early in order to go the venue early so that we can get the best seats possible. From our viewpoint, we figured that we got quite a good seating area as we could see the stage in whole and we were able to get good shots of the stage.

It was a long wait before we could get some relief from the hot weather. The sun shone non-stop during our wait and it was hard to get comfortable in a cramp seat for long period of time. Furthermore the girl sitting on my right kept poking her umbrella onto my shoulder which hurt a lot. I can tell you that it was truly a test of my patience when the girl just refused to be considerate when using her umbrella. I really felt like committing a murder there and then. Damn her....

I took loads of photos during the preview and posted them onto my Facebook Photo albums, which can be accessed by public. My photography skills are not quite up to scratch and my Casio Exilim EX-70 is not an excellent camera for long shots so some of the photos don't turn out quite nice. So sad sia...

When the Comex comes at the end of this month, I'm gonna invest in a good superzoom camera which is also able to take good shots in dim light conditions. That's for sure.

All right. The urls for the public albums are listed below:

Part 1

Part 2

Yup. I also took videos of the fireworks which are the main highlights of the show. I'm still uploading the videos onto my web pages and it's taking forever to finish uploading, at the rate it's going.

Nonetheless, the fireworks was simply amazing. They took my breath away, literally. I was so awed by the beauty of the fireworks that I wish that I could set off my own fireworks. If only fireworks are legalised in Singapore, that would be a totally different story altogether. *sighs*

Anyways, once the preview had ended, both mayi and I went for dinner at Sushi Tei at Raffles City. I still prefer the outlet at Vivo City as the food and service are much better than this Raffles City outlet.

I didn't ate that much as mayi's mum was around and I wasn't exactly comfortable with her. Not totally, you know what I mean? Hmmm....

So, after the dinner, I went on to meet Veron and my other colleagues at Party World KTV at Shenton Way for a singing session, though I didn't sing that much. Having sung so many national day songs earlier on had sorta tired me out. Heehee...

Yep. That's all for the day. Enough rabbling. I'll post my fireworks videos as soon as I can get them up. See ya!!!

Nice Lunch @ Ben Jerry's Restaurant

Today's lunch was quite special from the usual fare that I had ate during working hours.

Together with my colleagues from NHGP, we went to a Ben & Jerry's restaurant along Dempsy Road (I think) which happened to be the only outlet that offers full meals other than just selling ice-cream.

I didn't take any pictures of the interior of the restaurant. However, I did snapped a picture of my food along with Susan's, using my Sony Ericsson K800i.

This is what I ordered. Some sort of a burger with ham & cheese. Yum...

This belongs to Susan's.

It was the only time that they took me along for their lunch sessions. I guess it might be due to the fact that my boss wasn't around and so I could have a longer lunch. Furthermore, I am not so close to these colleagues at my new company and thus there is no reason for them to ask me along all the time.

*sighs*

We shall see how things go. But, for the record, I really enjoyed the food. Just the food, thanks.
