Manga Read: Midnight Secretary

I have completed reading a new manga series, Midnight Secretary, and I absolutely love it! I got my copy from Aerandria Scans and boy, I'm so glad that I found this lovely manga.



The manga follows the story of a private secretary, Kaya, and her super handsome boss, Kyouhei. Kaya was introduced as a potential secretarial candidate for Kyouhei by his brother, Masaki. However Kyouhei rejected Kaya mainly because she don't look like a beauty to him and he only has interest in beautiful ladies.

This pisses Kaya and so with her persuasive powers, she managed to get Kyouhei to agree to let her work on a trial run to determine her abilities at work. However, what Kaya did not count on was the hidden secret of her boss. He is a vampire and he takes his 'meals' by seducing beuatiful women. That explains why so many beautiful women are seen going in and out of his office all the time.

And so this begins Kaya's strange journey into the supernatural world of vampires and her subsequent romance with Kyouhei. Kyouhei was very reluctant to get involved with her as she is a human. Humans caused him to get alienated from the vampire branch and hence he was forced to survive on his own. Thus Kaya had a tough time when she realised she had fallen in love with her seemingly cold boss.

Well eventually love wins over everything and the two of them live happily ever after. What I love about this series is the incredible artwork and the story plot. The artwork is so gorgeous and Kyouhei is the most handsome boss that I have ever seen. If only I have a boss like that... aww... You know what I mean when you see the pictures below.










Look at those smoking eyes of Kyouhei. Aren't they seductive? Heehee... As for Kaya, she has super big eyes that reminds me of Ayumi Hamasaki. Both of them possess huge eyes that I wish I could have too. =(

The plot is also good with intriguing hues of supernatural themes as well as a generous dose of humour. I love this sensei's sense of humour. It's so adorable =D

I have to check out more of this mangaka's works as the artwork is simply too beautiful and I'm a sucker for beautiful things. So there you go. One more series completed. Phew....

Anime Watch: 07 Ghost

A really cool and amazing anime, 07 Ghost, has been added to my list of favourites.




Recently I have started watching this really cool anime, 07 Ghost. This anime is an adaptation of a popular manga series of the same title. Basically, it follows the story of a boy, Teito Klein, who used to be a slave and is currently now studying at Barsburg Empire's military academy.

However he came across a conversation between Ayanami and his subordinate and discovered that he used to be the heir of Raggs kingdom and it was destroyed by Ayanami. He tried to kill Ayanami but failed and was captured instead.

His best friend, Mikage, saved Teito and enabled him to escape away from the military's clutches. However he himself was captured by Ayanami and forced to choose either to save his family or Teito. Eventually he was sent on a mission to where Teito had fled to, District 7, to send him back to the military.

Back at the Disctrict 7, it is a church sanctuary where no outside laws can interfere with the district and destitute people are welcome to stay for as long as they like. Thus Teito can stay on without worrying that the military or Ayanami would come to capture him.

The characters in the story uses a special form of magic, known as zaiphon, to fight and protect themselves from attacks. Zaiphon is the ability to convert life energy into various forms of power. Zaiphons are controlled by the user conveying their emotions into this energy and the power that comes from it often takes the shape of words, though people may use weapons to channel Zaiphon. Those who have the ability to use Zaiphon are rare and thought of as blessed by God.

The bishops in the church uses a bascule to channel their zaiphons into their own unique attacks. In some cases, users manipulate their zaiphons for healing while others uses theirs to move things at will.

In this story, there are three bishops that stand out due to their abilities in zaiphon powers. They are Castor, Frau and Labrador and are part of the 7 ghosts that protect the sanctuary by removing evil and darkness.

There are many comical moments in the anime despite the seriousness of the story plot. Teito is constantly being teased by Frau and often results in Teito yelling back at Frau. I like the plot as it is unique and engaging. When Teito lost Mikage, sadness is evident throughout that episode. However Mikage is reborn as a pink-winged dragon and is constantly at Teito's side to protect him from danger, just like before.

In my opinion, the show is somewhat quite shounen-ai although it was all implicit. The bond between Teito and Mikage is so close that it's like they are lovers or something like that. Really odd in a way.

In fact it also spread to Kuroyuri and Haruse, who is often seen carrying Kuroyuri around. In the anime, when Haruse was poisoned by Labrador's flowers, Kuroyuri offered his blood to him and it is implied that he put his mouth to Haruse's.

I have not yet finished the anime and am now up to episode 20. However the whole season has already ended last month so I'm curious to know about the ending.

Now I'm also in love with the ending theme, Hitomi no Kotae by Noria. I like the song a lot and it is often played throughout the anime as a melody accompanying emotional scenes such as Mikage's death. I put the song below so hopefully it can be played and enjoyed. =)

Manga Read: Kuroshitsuji Chapter 37

Wow finally the latest chapter for Kuroshitsuji is out. Many many thanks to Bleach Asylum for translating the chapter and posting it up.

Chapter 37 shows Ciel getting his measurements done for his new clothes since most of the Phantomhive mansion along with its belongings was destroyed during the fight with the circus members.

Miss Nina is the tailor specifically hired for Ciel and she is so hilarious! She has a thing for Mey Rin and keeps harassing her nonstop. Well, the taking of Ciel's nude measurement is superb and I applaud Yana for making it so enjoyable to read.

It's all because of the slave mark that was on Ciel's back and since no one knew about that mark, Ciel and Sebastian went to great lengths to conceal it from everybody, to hilarious results. Well nothing is every difficult for Sebastian since he's a demon anyway. But the whole scene is super cute. And Nina calls Sebastian Mr. Stiff. Wahahaha!!!

The two of them are always at odds with each other on the choice of colours for Ciel's clothes. Man, Nina is so funny when she tried to argue back at Sebastian, whose face remains calm. Tee hee...

What I love most is the ending panel of the chapter. Ciel, being tired from all the commotion surrounding his nude measurements as well as the stress from facing the Father earlier on, fell asleep in his chair. His face looks so serene and relaxed that everyone was amazed at seeing this delicate side of Ciel. I wish I can have a coloured version of the panel so that I can use it as an MSN avatar. Aww.....

Now I can't wait for 17 Oct for the next chapter to arrive. =D

Manga Read: Skip Beat! Chapter 145

Skip Beat! chapter 145 is out! You can grab it here. This chapter is simply awesome!

Shou finally gave Kyoko that big bouquet of flowers, together with many shiny stuffs to go with it. It made Kyoko puzzled until he congratulated her on being the girlfriend of Vie Ghoul. This sent her flying into madness as she never was a girlfriend of anybody at all.

So amid the clearance of the misunderstanding, Shou suddenly grabbed Kyoko and kissed her! Oh my! Look at the page that I put below for illustration.

That was such a sudden act from Shou. He even kissed her right in front of everybody on the set of Dark Moon. That means Ren was around to witness the kiss too. What is going to happen next? Shou really don't want to lose Kyoko to Ren but how will he get her back? Will he able to get her back after all?

How will Ren react to this suddent development? After all, he is in love with Kyoko and her first kiss has just been snatched by Shou! Aww....
