So Pissed Off At A Stupid Door!

I can't believe my eyes today when I received an email from my boss, complaining about me not closing her office door before I left for home after work. See what she wrote in the email below:

--

I just came back from CCK, my office aircon is on and door is opened.

Understand that before I left, XX's thing was in my office and thus I did not close my door.

In future, before you leave the office, pls ensure my aircon is off and door is closed.

Thanks!

--

For the record, I am not a secretary, just a lowly-ranked admin assistant and this is the kind of treatment I get from my boss. I get the feeling that she looks down on me. It's pathetic, isn't it?

You could say that I am totally not used to this kind of thing at all. In my previous job, there was no separate room specially to cater to my boss. We all share the same office room and it's an open concept. Hence, doors never come into the picture unless you are talking about the main office door.

Ok, I admit I forgotten to close her door but must she make such a hussy fit about it? There's no valuables in her room. On top of that, the executives in my department has the tendency to use her room for their mini meetings and they always left the door open after they left. So does that mean I am solely responsible for the closure of the stupid door?

It's just a door. If I remember to close it, fine. If I don't, is there a need to make a big fuss about it? Bah!

Anyway I have just closed and LOCKED the door since she won't be coming to the office for 2 days. It definitely would not be fair to me if I had already closed the door and the executives left it open after that. Damn them anyway.

One more thing. She actually made the effort to come back to office after working hours just to check her room. She sent that email at 6.42pm, a time where most people have already logged off work.

I don't know how my boss' mind works but it is definitely not in the right working condition. I am already trying to stay out of her way in order to avoid trouble but it was all in futile. Maybe she might come in this evening to check her fateful door again.

Ahhh whatever. I might just blast that door away, knock down the walls so that she won't have a room anymore.

Bleah!

Manga Read: Skip Beat! Chapter 140

Wow! Finally chapter 140 for Skip Beat! is now up for reading. You can go to this website to download the scans to read.

Oh boy! I can't wait to see what Kyoko had bought for Ren! The suspense is killing me man. I like the way the mangaka is going in the story's direction. If only we can get more regular updates from her, then we wouldn't have to wait in suspense for so long.

Right. I am going off to read thew new chapter! See ya!

Manga Read: Kuroshitsuji Chapter 33

Yay! The next chapter for Kuroshitsuji is finally out! This new chapter is totally awesome!

It focused on the three Phantomhive servants who were at the mansion, awaiting for ambush from the circus members. It would have been a glorious chapter, if not for the fact that the anime sort of spoiled the fun by revealing the true characters of the servants way in advance from the manga.

Still Yana has made the servants much more awesome than the anime can ever do. I love the way Meirin was portrayed by Yana as a sniper. She totally rocks and looks way too cool when she holds her guns.

Needless to say, the servants managed to protect the mansion successfully through the total defeat of the circus members. Ciel and Sebastian appeared very little in this chapter though. Awww....

Still it was great to see Bard, Meirin and Finny came together to protect the mansion, as per Ciel's order. The chapter is worth a read. Now I can't wait for the next chapter to come soon enough!

I'm sure the focus will switch back to Ciel, Sebastian and the Father. Oh and the Joker of course. What will happen between them? How would Ciel deal with the Father? I'm sure Yana won't disappoint!

Movie Watch: Angels and Demons

Yesterday, I went to watch the latest movie starring Tom Hanks, Angels and Demons, with Queenie. This movie is based off the best-selling book by Dan Brown with the same name.

Movie Poster

Book Cover

More or less, the movie followed the premise of the book but personally I don't really like the casting of Tom Hanks in the main role of Robert Langdon. I had imagined a much younger Robert. Hanks is way too old for my professor fantasies. Muawahaha!

The movie wasn't that bad but it wasn't particularly good either. I don't get sucked into the movie's plot and the dialogue between characters was bland too. Sometimes Hollywood doesn't get it right and this is one of them.

No doubt the action is there but I just don't feel satisfied from watching the movie. Perhaps my expectations are too high but the feeling that I got from reading the book was much better than this. I was truly enthralled by the book's plot and pacing, something lacking in the movie.

The few comic reliefs in the movie were quite funny but then, they don't lift the movie up a lot. Perhaps I should re-read the book again to get that previous feeling of thrill.

Manga Read: Bleach Chapter 357 Out

The new chapter to the ongoing manga, Bleach, has just been posted for reading.

It continues the fights for shinigami captains Soi Fong and Toushirou Hitsugaya against the Espadas. However it seems that they are on the losing end for now. The Espadas' powers are getting so powerful that even the shinigami captains underestimated them and suffered damages to themselves in the process.

Soi Fong had to cut off her arm when she was hit by Barragan's attack, Death Breathe. Her hand and arm turned to bones and would probably have killed her if she hadn't got the arm cut off. I wonder how on earth is she going to get victory out from this fight? So far the odds are stacked highly against her favour. Knowing Kubo Tite, he would probably engineered a twist that no one would think of in this kind of situation.

For Toushirou, he thought that he could use his control of the water as a weapon against Halibel but she proved to be a tough cookie as well. While Toushirou controls water in the form of ice, Halibel controls water in its original form. It seems to be that way for now.

Yet again, the chapter ended in a cliffhanger and so we don't know who is going to win their fights. No wonder Bleach has grown so much chapters. One single fight alone is enough to occupy several chapters.

Anyway tomorrow I am looking forward to the release of the new chapter for Kuroshitsuji. Wee! I can't wait to see what Yana has drawn for Ciel and Sebastian in their pursue of the Father.

Onward to tomorrow!

H1N1 Influenza A Hits Malaysia

Now the recent H1N1 influenza A has reached much closer to home, with Malaysia reporting its first case about 2 hours ago.

A 21 years old male student who had just returned on a trip from the United States on 13 May had fallen ill yesterday. Laboratory tests confirmed that it was the H1N1 flu virus that caused the illness.

With that, Singapore is now going to be more alert in its fight against the flu virus as so far no cases have been reported yet. But with the virus hitting so close, it would only be a matter of time before the virus finally hit us since Malaysia is only a river away from us.

However I believe we can and are able to fight against the virus as we have already been well-prepared when the virus first struck in Mexico.

We just have to be more vigilant in our stringent screenings of patients who visit GPs and travellers who have just returned from affected countries. So far 33 countries have reported cases of the virus striking but the fatality is only about 65, most of them in Mexico.

That means the virus is highly contagious but is not life-threatening at this stage. Oh well, after the SARS episode, companies are much more aware of the health situations around the world. My company is no exception either and we have purchased many medical stuffs to stock up as well as for our frontline clinical staffs' usage.

Now all we can do is wait for more news from WHO to track the progress of the virus.

Wee! I'm in for RMIT University!

Finally! The day that I have been waiting has arrived!

I have gotten my letter of acceptance from the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) that I have successfully get in to my course at RMIT University.

The course that I will be taking is Bachelor of Business (Management) and I managed to get the Pathway C, which means that I can complete my degree in 18 months, provided I study hard and pass everything! =D

So if everything goes well, I could graduate by the end of next year! That sounds so fast! Oh my. I'm getting so excited that my mind is kind of a whirlpool right now.

The utmost concern for me is the payment of the cost of study. I wondering if I should take up some finance loans but I am so blur with all those finance stuffs. Anyway I have got to submit my reply to SIM by 27 May 2009 in order to secure my place in the course. Oh man. That's only like a few weeks away.

With any luck, I should be able to start school by 1 July 2009. Hopefully everything will go well for me. Oh man. Even though I couldn't get into my first choice of university (that would be the University of Manchester), RMIT university isn't that bad either and it's an Australian university too.

All right. So I have to start pulling up my socks and get into it. Otherwise it would be money going down the drain, eh?

Heehee... I am so happy! Wee!!! I still can't believe my luck that I got into the course. With my lousy scores, I thought I was a goner.

PS. Today is actually Selina's birthday, I wonder did any of her luck came to me? Hmmm.... I am thinking too much. XD

Manga Read: Bleach Chapter 356 Out

Woo~ finally the translated version for Bleach chapter 356 is out and it's as short as ever.

New cover for the chapter

In the previous chapter, we thought that Toushirou was fatally injured by Halibel's attack. However, that was actually a diversion created by Toushirou in an attempt to try and outsmart the espadas. The espadas are a very super tough lot of fighters and it takes smart wit to win against them, not pure brute force.

This shows that Toushirou is not all what he seems to be, despite his child-like appearance. He's got much more mettle to his credit than he would let on but his fight with Halibel is still not over yet. As usual, Kubo Tite is going to cover the battle in several chapters, so that leave us readers hanging in the balance for now. Aww...

The other shinigami captain to be featured in this chapter is Soi Fong, who is fighting against espada no. 2, Barragan Luisenbarn, and he explained how each of the Espadas embody an aspect of death. According to the series, these are the ten reasons why humans die. Each Espada govern one aspect of death each and each aspect is reflective of an Espada's personality and/or fighting style.

He himself represent aging, a form of time manipulation. He can render his opponent unable to move or even break their bones without them realising it until it's too late. Poor Soi Fong is going to have a pretty tough fight this time but I'm betting that Yoruichi Shihōin will come in to save the day. Hee...

Now Barragan has just use his release and he sure looks awesome too. See the picture below:

Credit to sleepy fans for all the pictures.

He looks like a skeleton king, doesn't he? A grand one at that too. Oh man, the next chapter will be out tomorrow and the translated version should be out by Thursday or Friday. Till then, the fate of the shinigami captains as well as Ichigo and gang is still up for guessing. Phew!

Ayumi's New Album: NEXT LEVEL

Tada! I finally got my hands on Ayumi Hamasaki's latest album release, NEXT LEVEL. I am actually quite late in buying this album because I totally forgotten about it. It was only until my colleague had asked me whether I enjoyed listening to the latest album, then it dawned on me that I forgot cleanly about the buying.

So I went down to Plaza Singapura yesterday and promptly bought the album from Sembawang CD shop. It was quite expensive, being pegged at S$27.50 but since it's a 2CD+DVD packaging, I didn't mind it that much. After all Ayumi's albums are always very impressive.

This new album is so pretty that it makes me feel as though I'm carrying a candy around with me. See the CD cover below:

She's very pretty, right? Awww...

In fact, I had just realised that I have been supporting Ayumi's works for a decade, well almost a decade anyway. That's a long time, isn't it? Right from her early days when I first heard of her in the song, SEASONS. That song was first released in the album, Duty, way back in 2000. However I only started buying her albums when she released a compilation, A BEST, in 2001. That was my very first Ayumi CD and I was immediately drawn to her wonderful and strong vocals and moving music.

In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she wrote all the lyrics in her songs and even arranged some of her own songs too. Sometimes she would credit herself as 'crea' but sometimes she would also use her own name.

However, I am honest enough to admit that I don't own ALL her albums at all. By this, I mean all her singles, all her remixes albums, all her compilation albums as well as her regular studio albums. That would break my bank, not to mention that I would be buying the same songs over and over. I'm not such a fanatic fan after all. But I do own almost all of her studio albums and compilation albums.

Nonetheless, I still get to enjoy her songs and she's really the best in Japan. Too bad I don't have the opportunity to attend her concerts. That has been one of my longest dreams but sadly enough, Singapore can't afford to host her concert here due to economical reasons. Well, that is to be expected, since she's the top earner in Japan's entertainment world.

Too bad I don't get to share the same birthday as her. She is born on 2 October while I'm born on 3 October. Argh.... Just 1 day difference. Well, at least we share the same horoscope, Libra. Wee!

All right, I'm off to listen to her new album and wander into Ayu-land!!!

New Samsung I7500

Besides HTC, Samsung is also coming up with its own andriod-powered mobile phone, the Samsung I7500.

It looks somewhat similar to the HTC Magic, only that it comes in a black colour. But since most of the Samsung phones are also sleek and pretty, I suppose they might score higher in the looks department than HTC.

Again, there is not much information released on this phone but we do have some basic information like connectivity. There's 3G, HSDPA, HSUPA, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS/GSM, USB, and EDGE.

It also comes equipped with a 5 megapixel camera as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack that allows for use of personal earphones other than the phone's version. It also has a built-in 8GB storage as well as a microSD card slot so overall it's quite a well-rounded phone.

Oh, these phones better come quick then we can have a real look at their functions.

New HTC Magic

Whoa, andriod phones are starting to invade the mobile phone market and the newest model from HTC is the MTC Magic.

It looks so much better than its predecessor, the HTC Dream. So far not much details are known about this phone except that it doesn't come with a slide out keyboard like the HTC Dream.

Based on looks, it sure wins over the HTC Dream anytime but iPhone is still way too sleek for its competitors to catch up to it in terms of the looks.

So far reports are saying that the phone will be selling in Europe but no releases has been announced for Asia yet. By the time that release comes, Apple will probably have released its third version of its hugely popular iPhone, which is slated for an update this July.
