Amazing Japanese Rice Growing Bra

The Japanese are truly an amazing bunch of people on our Earth. They can come up with lots of quirky stuffs that actually turn out to be quite practical in daily life usage. Just like this new Japanese rice growing bra. How did they manage to come up with that kind of stuffs?

Singaporeans are not even close to half of what the Japanese can and have achieved for themselves. Their brains seem to work in a wave that is different and special from normal people like me and you.

I wonder how last will this latest Japanese bra invention goes in Singapore. Most Singaporeans Didn't have freckles but now it's quite obvious. =D

TuzkiSnap is one cool App!

I have just downloaded this fun and cute app from the iTunes App Store and can't stop myself from playing with it.

TuzkiSnap is solely made for the iPhone and users can either use a new photo or choose one from their existing library to use the features on the app. For my first shot, I took a picture of the dried grass patch that can be seen from my kitchen. I did mentioned before that the weather is extremely hot these days and I am using this snap to show it. After taking the shot, I can add accessories like frames and little tuzki around the picture. The final result is shown below:

Well, it is not a very fanstastic shot and my photography skills are awful but that's the best I can make do for now. From the picture, you can see that all the grass have turned brown due to lack of water and the extreme hot sun. Looks like we have to endure this sort of weather for quite a while. In fact, our meteorological station had stated that this is the driest February we ever had in 140 years.

Gosh that is so hot and dry! It's as though we are living in a desert. Tropical countries are really pain in the ass to live in, you know? I hope that I can get out of this country when the opportunity comes.

Nonetheless, I have lots of fun playing around with TzukiSnap and I used some old photos for decorations too. Strangely enough, I can't upload those processed photos onto Facebook. Hmm... I wonder what went wrong. In fact, I had to email the above picture to my gmail inbox then save it on desktop before uploading it to a hosting site. That was so much work.

Oh well I shall have to explore further to get the basics of this app. For now, it's snap time! >O<

Funny Quotes on Tiger Woods Car Accident

The internet can be so full of wild stuffs. Take world-famous golfer Tiger Woods for example. His latest car crash and affair boo-boo landed him on the front page of every newspapers and the internet does not spare him either.

Numerous quotes, or rather puns, have been sprouting everywhere and making fun at Tiger Woods' expense. Websites like this and this have compiled so many funny quotes that makes for a quick laugh.

I have put some quotes below for reference:

---
Tiger's rear view mirror has a new warning: ANGRY WIVES ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR

The bruise on Tiger's forehead spells "Nike" backwards.

Nike has announced a new line of clubs for jealous wives.

Even the world's best golfer can't get out of every lie.

What's the difference between a Cadillac and a golf ball? Tiger can drive a golf ball over 300 yards.

What club did Elin use to "rescue" Tiger? A bitching wedge.

Phil Mickelson has already called Elin to get some tips on how to beat Tiger.

Tiger hit a tree and a fire hydrant. He had trouble deciding between a wood and an iron.

The police asked Elin how many times she hit Tiger. She said, "Put me down for a five."

Tiger explained the injuries to his face by telling the police that he's a scratch golfer.

Tiger's sponsor, Gillette, is upset because Tiger said the accident was the closest shave he's ever had.

Elin found out her husband's not a Tiger, he's a cheetah.

Tiger put the fault of the accident on his Escalade, which is typical of a golfer -- always blame the Caddy.

Did you make it out of your own driveway safely this morning? Then you can say that you outdrove Tiger Woods.

Did you hear about Tiger's last outing? He drove into a tree, then ended up with a bad lie.

What do baby seals and Tiger Woods have in common? They've both been clubbed by Scandinavians.

I think Tiger needs a new driver, his current shaft keeps getting him in trouble!

I read that the PGA are now investigating Tiger for having too many "woodies" in his bag!

After scoring a couple of beautiful birdies earlier on, Tiger finds himself in serious trouble at the last hole, coming home.

Tiger Woods wasn't seriously injured in the crash, but he's still below par.

What were Tiger Woods and his wife doing out at 2.30 in the morning? They went clubbing.

Tiger Woods is so rich that he owns lots of expensive cars. Now he has a hole in one.

If Elin really did whack Tiger a couple of times with a golf club, it would have been in line with the rules of golf: there's a 2-stroke penalty for playing the wrong hole.

Hey Adidas, this is Tiger, Nike found your number in my phone. I need you to change your name...
---

Laugh at Tiger's expense! Wahaha!

Bill Gates Quote of the Day

There is an interesting quote from Bill Gates, the founder of computer giant Microsoft,  that I had just came across at this website. Here is the quote below:

--
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.
--

Sounds cool, isn't it?  Then again, Mr. Gates himself is a nerd so perhaps he is speaking from personal experience. ^_~

However we must still take note not to become too nerdy, otherwise that might turn people off instead. When people mention nerds, what comes to my mind is a bespectacled guy who keeps burying his head in a thick book all the time. Not very appealing, eh?

Anyway, a quote is just a saying so we should just enjoy it for the fun of it. Tada! (^_^)/

Perseids for Google Logo

I was browsing through the web earlier when I came across Google's new design for its logo. It looks very interesting and upon clicking on the picture, I was brought to a search page containing everything on the Perseid meteor shower.

Google Search Home Page (click on the image to enlarge)

Live image of the Perseid meteor shower (Credit: NASA)

According to NASA's page, this is an annual occurance that can be seen in the North America. The Perseid meteor shower is so-called because it appears to radiate from the constellation Perseus. This meteor shower seems to appear mostly in the Northern hemisphere. Well, I suppose I won't be able to see this kind of phenomenon in my part of the world. Singapore is situated directly in the centre of the Earth and that means we miss seeing lots of interesting stuffs that goes on in the atmosphere. I really hate that.

So the only way to enjoy these phenomenons is to go to websites like NASA, where pictures were taken using the latest technological equipments to capture that precious moment in the sky. The universe is such a wonderful entity that continues to thrill us non-stop with its display of works such as meteor showers.

I have never seen a meteor shower before and I heard it's really amazing to see it with your own eyes. Aww... I really wish that I could be in North America right now to see the Perseid meteor shower.

Oh man, my life sucks. Big time. =P

New Samsung I7500

Besides HTC, Samsung is also coming up with its own andriod-powered mobile phone, the Samsung I7500.

It looks somewhat similar to the HTC Magic, only that it comes in a black colour. But since most of the Samsung phones are also sleek and pretty, I suppose they might score higher in the looks department than HTC.

Again, there is not much information released on this phone but we do have some basic information like connectivity. There's 3G, HSDPA, HSUPA, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS/GSM, USB, and EDGE.

It also comes equipped with a 5 megapixel camera as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack that allows for use of personal earphones other than the phone's version. It also has a built-in 8GB storage as well as a microSD card slot so overall it's quite a well-rounded phone.

Oh, these phones better come quick then we can have a real look at their functions.

New HTC Magic

Whoa, andriod phones are starting to invade the mobile phone market and the newest model from HTC is the MTC Magic.

It looks so much better than its predecessor, the HTC Dream. So far not much details are known about this phone except that it doesn't come with a slide out keyboard like the HTC Dream.

Based on looks, it sure wins over the HTC Dream anytime but iPhone is still way too sleek for its competitors to catch up to it in terms of the looks.

So far reports are saying that the phone will be selling in Europe but no releases has been announced for Asia yet. By the time that release comes, Apple will probably have released its third version of its hugely popular iPhone, which is slated for an update this July.

Kuroshitsuji DS Game on Sale

Wow, a Nintendo DS game has been released for Kuroshitsuji on 19 March 2009. It's titled Kuroshitsuji: Phantom & Ghost. Pictures of the game can be found below for reference, all credits not mine:

Game Cover

An online website posted a mini review on the game, which I posted below:

--

Kuroshitsuji: Phantom & Ghost will have an original story with some original characters. Sebastian, the butler, and Ciel, his master, are in the game. Players can switch between the two characters and view scenes from different perspectives which lead to different endings. Since Kuroshitsuji: Phantom & Ghost is being billed as a “Master and Butler’s adventure game” the core game sounds like a text adventure, but Square Enix has some mini-games inside Kuroshitsuji: Phantom & Ghost too.

Update: Finally, a touch screen dishwashing mini-game. It looks like Kuroshitsuji: Phantom & Ghost is going to give players menial tasks in the form of mini-games
.

--

A quick check online for the pricing put it at S$91.58, which would be way out of my budget if I were to buy it. Well, I don't own a Nintendo DS Lite so it would be pointless for me to buy the game. However I am very tempted to own this game as it's based on one of my favourite manga and anime of the moment, Kuroshitsuji.

Oh man, what should I do? To buy or not to buy. It's getting on my nerves, seeing that only Japanese people will get to play this game for now. Grrr....

Rumours of an Apple Netbook?

Rumours are abound with leaked news that Apple will be producing its own version of a netbook, the only computer firm that has yet to release any.

If the rumours are to be believed, Apple will release a touchscreen-enabled netbook that will offers the company's signature sophisticated gadgets and operating software.

At this moment in time, one can only hope how Apple won't be pricing the supposed netbook way out of netbook range. Otherwise we are better off with web-browsing on its iPhone. Hey, I just thought of a lame name for the netbook, iNet. Wahahaha!

If the netbook comes out with that name, you know you read it here first.

Funny Ad in Britain

According to Yahoo News, a British man was fed up at his wife's nagging and put up a sales ad for his wife.

"Nagging Wife. No Tax, No MOT. Very high maintenance -- some rust," wrote the man and surprisingly, he got quite a number of offers on the ad.

Needless to say, the wife gave him an ear-bashing but is said to see the humour side of the matter as well. Life can get very stressful sometimes and both parties must be more accommodating in these trying times so that things won't fall apart.

Well at least for this British man, he did managed to get himself into a hilarious situation but things ended well, I suppose.

Seiyuu Actor for Taiga & Shana ~ Rie Kugimiya

I stumbled across this interesting video of a preview on seiyuu actor, Rie Kugimiya, showcasing her skills on TV.

It's so fun to see her doing the voicing as it is certainly a unique work. Too bad she did not do a Taiga in the video but at least she did Shana. I like Shakugan no Shana but I haven't been able to find any of its videos.

Anyway enjoy the video and I wish I could do a job like that too. It would be so fun and challenging. But there is no such market here in Singapore as animes are unique to Japan. It's one big anime world in there.

NTU Lecturer Stabbed by Student

Finally the unexpected thing happened in Singapore.

The first case of a student stabbing incident has just occurred in Nanyang Technological University this morning.

--

AN information engineering professor of the Nanyang Technological Universy is undergoing emergency operation in hospital after he was allegedly stabbed by a final year student in his office on Monday morning.

The professor, Prof Chan Kap Luk, was in his office when the male student stabbed him with a knife in the back and arm.

After the attack, the male student, who was in his 20s, slit his wrists and jumped.

The body of the undergraduate, believed to be an Indonesian Chinese, was found at the foot of the seven-storey School of Electrical, Electronic and Engineering building.

NTU students returning from their mid-term one-week break were shocked at the double tragedies which happened at about 10.30am on the sixth floor, where the offices of the lecturers are located.

The School of EEE is next to the School of Communications.

Prof Chan, who is in his 40s, is said to be the supervisor of the student in a project.

--

These are the kind of things that only happen in western universities like last year's Virginia High Tech University. Yet times are changing these days.

The only difference is that the nationality of the culprit is Indonesian Chinese, and not Chinese, as speculated by many internet users in forums. The cause of the conflict is yet to be determined but this news will definitely be sensational in Singapore for quite some time.

We are used to seeing such killing news originating from USA or UK or even in Japan, the nearest country to South East Asia. Now we are facing the exact same thing in our own land, albeit without the thrilling factor of guns, the most common choice of weapon among such suicide killers.

Let's see how the news will pan out for this particular case. For all we know, we might never get to the bottom of the matter.

Merlion Hit by Lightning

According to news reports, the iconic Singapore Merlion was hit by lightning during a heavy rain spell yesterday afternoon.

Straits Times picture.

According to witnesses, the lightning bolt was seen to strike the Merlion's mane and sent debris flying all over.

The Merlion was shifted to its current location from the mouth of the Singapore River and remains an important aspect of Singapore's identity.

Looks like nature is fair and square and has no qualms about striking anything in its path. Now the Merlion is undergoing repair works as reported on the news just now on Channel 8.

Treasure found via Google Earth?

Once again, Google Earth is in the news.

This time round, a man was reported to have used the software to find a treasure off Aransas Pass in Texas. Apparently, a shoeprint-shaped had made him believe that what he had found was the wreckage of a Spanish barquentine.

Now the case has ended up in court as the location in which the wreckage was located appeared to be in someone's private property.

If this man can prove that the land beneath which the ship is submerged is navigable waterway, he will get the treasure first, according to U.S. law.

However the lawyers of the property's owner is claiming otherwise. If that's the case, then the owner will get the treasure rather than the man who googled it. Interesting, eh?

In addition, the state of Texas' lawyers are sure that there's no commercial waterway there. Therefore, as far as they are concerned, if it's in water, it's in Texas's water. That adds an interesting mix to the claim equation.

How will all these pan out? Let's wait and see.

Now it's time to start using Google Earth since it has brought us many interesting nuggets in the technology world.

Ahoy! I bet Captain Jack Sparrow is teething with jealousy right now. Haha!

Google Earth catches people in toilet?!

This is quite an old piece of news but it's still interesting to share nonetheless.

The Inquirer had reported that Google Earth had managed to capture an image of a man sitting in the toilet. Man, that is sure a high piece of advance technology.

This image was reportedly taken off an inner-city Melbourne backyard in Australia. It's amazing how Google Earth managed to capture such an image. Poor guy probably still didn't know that he had made headlines in the news.

But then again, it's his own fault for not closing the door when using the toilet. Hmmm...

What say you?

Wow, Google Earth looks so cool now

According to CNET, the latest version of Google Earth is now able to let users go right into the deep oceans for an unusual exploration.

There's even a picture of an underwater mountain that is found off the coast of Hawaii, taken by CNET. See below:

It's so cool being able to peep right into the ocean without getting out of the house. But of course, nothing still beat the real thing of going down personally into those oceans, eh?

It's really interesting to work for Google, seeing that all these sorts of fascinating softwares are coming from them. Such innovativeness is certainly useful in keeping them ahead of the competition.

Way to go, Google!

Now it's the Aurora Borealis

Wired Science is quite a good website with lots of gorgeous pictures on the galaxies, space and nature. I am only browsing a small portion of the site and I found quite a couple of awesome pictures that I have never seen before.

One of those pictures is the famed Aurora Borealis. You can click here to see the article. I have also posted the same picture below for illustration purposes.

The Aurora Borealis

It's cool, isn't it? If you head over to wikipedia, there is a general explanation on the phenomena. Wikipedia also has some really cool pictures too. See below:

Aurora Borealis, Bear Lake

Aurora Borealis, Fairbanks, Alaska

Aurora Borealis, Antarctica

Nature can be so intriguing in its own way. All these lights dancing across the night sky is something that is unique to Mother Nature. I hope I can witness this glorious show in the future soon and Alaska is one of the places to offer the unique view.

Good night, Aurora Borealis.

Hi-Definition Images of Milky Way

Now, this is really an old piece of news but I was browsing through Wired Science's website just now and I came across this article. Astronomers had compiled a series of high-definition resolution individual frames (24752x13520) using NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope to create the mosaic picture below:

There is even a dedicated viewer to get the full experience on the beauty of the Milky Way too. All these images are simply way too cool and I envy the guys' luck in getting assigned to do this job. It could be those once-in-a-lifetime chance ever. I bet these astronomers also get nice, fat salary checks to boot as well.

Right now I am using the viewer to look at the Milky Way and it's simply awesome! It's definitely worth seeing, you know. Billions and billions of stars are in that galaxy and they are so bright.

If you have the time, do pop over to view the awesome Milky Way. I'll be on the lookout for more of such sites too.

=)

Interesting Bite on the Milky Way

According to Wired Science, the Milky Way out there in the space is now supposedly much larger than what was previously thought. To me, I thought the telescope picture of the galaxy is pretty cool though. See below for illustrations.

The Milky Way

I think it's pretty awesome that there are some other beautiful galaxies out there other than our own solar system. The way all these things are formed is simply amazing and that's how nature works for itself.

Everything out there is so mysterious yet glorious enough to captivate humans for centuries. Be it stars or the moon or the planets, everything has enraptured our imaginations so thoroughly for the longest time.

It's too bad that I can't afford those highly advanced technological cameras or telescopes that will allow me to take those gorgeous pictures. A good thing that NASA is on hand to take those shots for us.

Say, wouldn't it be a dream to be able to work in NASA and stare at all those little stars in the space as part of the job description? Sure sounds cool to me. However those kind of jobs are only applicable to the elite people. Meaning people who probably possess a Masters or Doctorate in their resume in order to get considered for the job. *sighs*

For now, I can only gaze at the galaxies through the eyes of these pictures and I am going to use the picture as my laptop's wallpaper for now. Till the next gorgeous pictures comes along anyway.

*grinz*

iPhone 3G Glory

Now that I am starting to get excited over the iPhone 3G (i know it's a long time), I am keeping a lookout for any good iPhone 3G deals from Singtel.

In the meantime, I can only goggle at these iPhone 3G pictures:

There are even talks of a red iPhone that might be released by Apple in conjuction with the holiday season as well as to boost the sales for the PRODUCT(RED) charity project.

I wonder what are the next plans that Apple has for its red-hot product. Last time, it used to be its own iPods, now its overtaken by its own iPhone. Things are certainly looking more and more exciting now.

For the consumers, things can only get better.
