Love SHINee and Lucifer!

Ok I admit I am very late in discovering this Korean boyband, SHINee, but hey, at least its better than never.

Their brand new single, Lucifer, won me over with its catchy tune & the five boys' excellent dance moves in its MV.

Among all the boys, I like Taemin the most as he stands out differently from the rest with his brown hair & he is easily the best dancer among all of them too. Onew is not too bad and has a cute baby face. Despite his looks, Onew is the leader of the group and is also the oldest member too.

As for Taemin, he is the baby of the group, being the youngest at 17. =) But in the MV for Lucifer, he looks so mature that I didn't realise his actual age only after I had googled him and SHINee. It's amazing how fast these boys have grown up within 1 year.

I look forward to more of SHINee. =D

Anime Watch: Kuroshitsuji II Episode 1

Wow finally the wait for the second season of Kuroshitsuji is over. This time round, the storyline seems to be different as both Ciel and Sebastian are not to be seen anywhere. Instead we are introduced to new characters who seem to be the main protagonists for this season.

Portugal Thrashed North Korea in 7:0 World Cup Match

Portugal showed who's the boss when it came to the field last night at their World Cup match in South Africa.

This year's World Cup also saw the most number of goals ever scored in a single game. Rightfully so, Portugal scored 7 goals to end North Korea's dreams of reaching the next round of the World Cup.

Portugal's captain, Cristiano Ronaldo also scored one goal for his team, the sixth goal overall in the game. They are most likely to face Brazil in their next match.

Too bad I didn't subscribe to cable TV to witness both Brazil's and Portugal's moment of glory. Things now promise to look for the better for the giant teams, all except for France and England.

Both teams are facing a big slump in performance on the pitch and it remains to be seen whether they can make it to the next round.

Now, all eyes on the TV screen. =)

Anime Watch: Kuroshitsuji II PV

I know this is quite late but I have just come across the new PV for the upcoming season 2 of Kuroshitsuji, which is going to be out in July this year.

There are new characters in the PV that I can't recognise but there seem to be no traces of Ciel and his butler, Sebastian anywhere in the PV.

Oh man, I hope this season will be better than the previous season and I am so curious about the direction for this new season. Is it going to deviate away from the manga or otherwise? Things are not so clear at the moment so all I can do now is to wait.

^.^

This is episode 2 of InuYasha Kanketsu Hen subbed in English.

Here we will see the last of Kagura as she finally gets her heart back but is poisoned with miasma by that scheming Naraku. She pondered over her newfound but short-lived freedom from Naraku. Before she dies, she sees Sesshomaru for the last time and floated into petals with a smile.

InuYasha and gang came too late to save her but they are somewhat relieved that she died happy. Initially I didn't like Kagura so much as she kept foiling InuYasha's plans to retrieve the Shinkon Shards but as the mangaka slowly developed her character, we came to know that Kagura is very much different from Naraku. At least she wanted to live as herself, without the control of Naraku and his evil plans. Throughout the story, all she wanted was the return of her heart so that she can gain freedom from Naraku and live as free as the wind. After all her name signifies the wind.

Enjoy the episode while it last. =D

Anime Watch: InuYasha Kanketsu Hen

Credit: Anime News Network

Finally, we get to see the last volumes of the popular manga, InuYasha, being animated on TV. The new and final season titled InuYasha Kanketsu Hen (or InuYasha The Final Act) started airing on Japan TV on 3rd October 2009 (my birthday! woo~) and started airing in the States the next day.

The volumes being animated are from 36 - 56 (end) and will officially conclude the anime series for InuYasha. Even though I have not yet seen the previous seasons of the anime, I am still watching the new season as I have finished reading the manga and thus I can follow the anime without any problem.

So far I have watched up to episode 8, where we bid farewell to Kikyo as she passed away in InuYasha's arms. Naraku had wanted to kill Kikyo so that she would die in his arms, the person whom she hated the most. Luckily InuYasha managed to get her back from Naraku before she dies. Still her injuries are too serious for her to recover and InuYasha shared a poignant last kiss with Kikyo before she turned into petals and floated away into the sky.

Here is episode 1 of the anime. I will slowly post links to each episode if I can.

Nowadays it is not easy to find animes on the web as these are unauthorised airing of the shows. However for asians fans like me, this is the only way to catch our favourite animes as our local TV network is not good enough to bring these animes to our shores. *sighs*

So enjoy the videos while they last. See ya!

Gokusen Movie Coming to Singapore on 19 November 2009

Yay! Gokusen the movie is coming to Singapore soon! The opening date for the movie here is stated as 19 November 2009, which means it's next week! I have pasted a copy of the movie poster below for some eye-candy-viewing. That's Yukie Nakama as Yamaguchi-sensei in the poster by the way.

She's so cool, eh? ^_^

Currently I am watching Gokusen 3 of the TV series on my Apple iPod classic and I was so surprised to see the movie poster up at Commonwealth MRT station a few days back. I contacted Queenie immediately to book her to watch the movie.

Boy I am lucky enough that she's interested to watch and that she has the time to watch. Well, my movie kakis are getting lesser and lesser >_< Pathetic eh? Nonetheless, it's great that I can get to watch this movie as I love Gokusen.

Too bad I didn't get the chance to read the manga version, which should definitely be very good. Still I managed to get hold of all the 3 seasons of the TV series and I am very happy to re-watch them again. My favourite season is number 2 as it has Kazuya Kamenashi and Jin Akanashi. They are soooo cool. \(^o^/

In any case, the movie cast description mention Kazuya Kamenashi and I am sooo looking forward to seeing him again. Hee... Seeing how passionate Yamaguchi-sensei is teaching her students makes me wonder why I didn't get my own version when I was still schooling.

Oh well, this is the manga version so we can't take everything at face value. It's all entertainment, right? *_* Alrighty, I better start counting down to the day that I can watch the movie.

*paging for Queenie!*

Anime Watch: 07 Ghost [Update]

Finally I have completed watching the anime series, 07 Ghost. I must say, the ending is quite nicely done but it sure leaves an opening for a possible season 2.

In the later part of the anime, Teito was persuaded by Bishop Castor to take the bishop exam in order to make himself stronger to deal with Ayanami. When he decided to take the exam, Bishop Castor gave Teito a bascule but he was unable to merge his powers with the new weapon. Bishop Castor offered to give Teito training to build up his strength and use the bascule.

Later, Teito met a guy whom he initially thought was Mikage but he turned out to be a relative of the Oak family, Hakuren Oak. Hakuren had sweared off his family ties to become a bishop as his mother had been possessed by a Kor and was saved by a young Bishop Frau.

They become friends although Teito still puts Mikage as the number 1 friend in his heart. Nonetheless, they faced the obstacles together while taking the bishop exam and they managed to pass all the stages in it. Just when Teito was about to come out from the exam area, Ayanami ambushed him. Teito has his final showdown with Ayanami but before Teito could use his full powers to defeat him, Ayanami escaped along with his subordinates.

Prior to that, Ayanami's subordinates had successfully separated Teito from his Eye of Mikhail and stole it before Teito could recover. All that is left for Ayanami to do is to capture Teito. Apparently he needs both the Eye of Mikhail and Teito for some unknown plan.

After Ayanami's escape, Teito proceed to start his journey to the Land of Seele together with Frau, who had become his mentor, to find his destiny.

And so, we have come to the end of the anime and now I am suffering withdrawals from the lack of 07 Ghost. Now I am searching for the manga version of the title so that I can get more information and story background. However since the manga has been licensed, I can't find any copies on the net. I wonder which shop stocks this manga so that I can go and buy all of the volumes.

Wish me and Teito best of luck! =D

Anime Watch: Inuyasha - The Final Act

Yay! Inuyasha is finally coming back to finish off the last volumes of the story in this brand new anime by Sunrise!

I am so happy to see this anime being listed in Anime News Network as part of a new 2009 fall anime releases. It is said to continue from where the last season left off. To be honest, I didn't watch any of the previous seasons as I don't have the full set of episodes. To find all 167 episodes is a high task indeed and one that I failed. =(

However this latest season shall not suffer the same fate. I will strive to get all episodes and watch them all. After all this is the last season for the manga and I desperately want to see Inuyasha and Kagome being together at the end of the anime. Also I'm not too sure if the previous seasons have covered Kikyo's death. If not, then this new season is most likely to cover it and I must watch it too. It was such an emotional scene for Inuyasha in the manga. *sobs*

Plus we will also get to see Sesshomaru get his arm back, together with a new, powerful sword that truly belong to him. And of course, the final defeat of Naraku, that damn, undying bastard that just refused to go away.

Inuyasha is one of my favourite manga so now they are finally continuing the series is making going all giddy in my head. Hee...

So now I put the video below for preview so that we can see what the new season has to offer for us. =)

Anime Watch: 07 Ghost

A really cool and amazing anime, 07 Ghost, has been added to my list of favourites.

Recently I have started watching this really cool anime, 07 Ghost. This anime is an adaptation of a popular manga series of the same title. Basically, it follows the story of a boy, Teito Klein, who used to be a slave and is currently now studying at Barsburg Empire's military academy.

However he came across a conversation between Ayanami and his subordinate and discovered that he used to be the heir of Raggs kingdom and it was destroyed by Ayanami. He tried to kill Ayanami but failed and was captured instead.

His best friend, Mikage, saved Teito and enabled him to escape away from the military's clutches. However he himself was captured by Ayanami and forced to choose either to save his family or Teito. Eventually he was sent on a mission to where Teito had fled to, District 7, to send him back to the military.

Back at the Disctrict 7, it is a church sanctuary where no outside laws can interfere with the district and destitute people are welcome to stay for as long as they like. Thus Teito can stay on without worrying that the military or Ayanami would come to capture him.

The characters in the story uses a special form of magic, known as zaiphon, to fight and protect themselves from attacks. Zaiphon is the ability to convert life energy into various forms of power. Zaiphons are controlled by the user conveying their emotions into this energy and the power that comes from it often takes the shape of words, though people may use weapons to channel Zaiphon. Those who have the ability to use Zaiphon are rare and thought of as blessed by God.

The bishops in the church uses a bascule to channel their zaiphons into their own unique attacks. In some cases, users manipulate their zaiphons for healing while others uses theirs to move things at will.

In this story, there are three bishops that stand out due to their abilities in zaiphon powers. They are Castor, Frau and Labrador and are part of the 7 ghosts that protect the sanctuary by removing evil and darkness.

There are many comical moments in the anime despite the seriousness of the story plot. Teito is constantly being teased by Frau and often results in Teito yelling back at Frau. I like the plot as it is unique and engaging. When Teito lost Mikage, sadness is evident throughout that episode. However Mikage is reborn as a pink-winged dragon and is constantly at Teito's side to protect him from danger, just like before.

In my opinion, the show is somewhat quite shounen-ai although it was all implicit. The bond between Teito and Mikage is so close that it's like they are lovers or something like that. Really odd in a way.

In fact it also spread to Kuroyuri and Haruse, who is often seen carrying Kuroyuri around. In the anime, when Haruse was poisoned by Labrador's flowers, Kuroyuri offered his blood to him and it is implied that he put his mouth to Haruse's.

I have not yet finished the anime and am now up to episode 20. However the whole season has already ended last month so I'm curious to know about the ending.

Now I'm also in love with the ending theme, Hitomi no Kotae by Noria. I like the song a lot and it is often played throughout the anime as a melody accompanying emotional scenes such as Mikage's death. I put the song below so hopefully it can be played and enjoyed. =)

Anime Watch: Chrome Shelled Regios

Ok, I know this is quite late for me but I have just started to watch this cool anime, Chrome Shelled Regios. It's so cool that even fairies are attracted to it. Serious. Nah... just kidding. However fairies do appear in the anime, though they are called Electronic Fairies. Eh Wikipedia has some information on this series. Do read it.

However the main point of this anime is that everybody is living in a special city known as a Regios. This is because polluted beasts have evolved to threaten humans' existence. Hence these Regios are constantly on the move in order to avoid these beasts. Each of these Regios are controlled by an Electronic Fairy, which basically forms the will of the Regios. It is possible for a Regios to encounter the beasts in its path.

When that happens, its residents must put up a fight to destroy the beast otherwise they risk losing their city. Some unlucky Regios do ended up being totally destroyed and abandoned.

Currently I am up to episode 18 out of 24 of the series. The series mainly follows the adventures of Layfon Alseif, who is very skilled in Military Arts, which in turn is useful for defending the Regios and defeating the beasts.

How will the anime end? I wonder. I am still watching so hopefully it will all be good. Hee...

Wee! A Second Season for Kuroshitsuji!

According to reliable source, there will be a second season for my favourite anime, Kuroshitsuji!

Season 1 ended on a dubious note and I wasn't entirely happy with the way the ending was presented. Not to mention that freaky Angela/Ash thingy that creeps people out. One moment it's a she, the next moment it's a he. Dammit, make up your mind if you wanna be a girl or a boy, Angela/Ash! Geez!

Gosh, even Sebastian has no interest in such a weird creature. Anyway I hope the new season will animate the circus arc as it is a very fantastic arc that showcases Ciel's darker side.

Since they announced that it will most probably be shown next year, Yana would have already drawn several more chapters by then. Hopefully we won't get so many filler episodes like season 1 anymore. No freaky angels please.

I also hope that season 1 will find its way to Singapore soon. Too bad all we have been getting are older anime series that are of no interest to me. When will my wish ever be granted, I wonder.

Really, the anime scene in Singapore is truly pathetic. Perhaps the tv station has no more money left to buy rights to the newer anime shows. Oh man, how I wish I can live in Japan right now. I would be in heaven!

Anime Movie Watch: My Neighbour Totoro

I know this is a very old anime movie made by Studio Ghibli, way back in 1988 but I saw this movie for the first time today. Right on my dear iPod Classic.

I came across this movie by chance and I am very glad that I have had the chance to watch it. It is a very light-hearted movie that centres around a little family that has just moved in to an old house.

Satsuki is the elder sister while Mei is the younger sister. Together they had lots of fun and share close sibling bonds.

One day, Mei sees a pair of white ears belonging to a magical creature, which eventually led her to Totoro. It was both magical and fun to see how the little Mei interact with Totoro.

Halfway through the movie, Satsuki also gets to see Totoro for the first time, while waiting for her father to come home at the bus stop. Soon the siblings share a close bond with Totoro and it was heartwarming to see how Totoro slowly opened up to them.

When Mei went missing while trying to reach her mother in the hospital, Satsuki was frantic and eventually enlisted the help of Totoro. Totoro got a catbus to search for Mei, which it did.

The movie was very nice to watch as its themes were all about family bonds and sibling bonds. The accompanying music is also very soothing to the ears and makes for an unforgettable experience. I'm glad that I have this chance to watch the movie as I was too young to understand it when it first came out.

Hayao Miyazaki is indeed a genius in developing this movie and I look forward to his movies in future.

Japanese Pop Star Drunk in Park

Whoa, a member of the hugely popular Japanese boyband, SMAP, has been arrested for being drunk and naked in a park near the Roppongi district.

Neighbours called in the police after they discovered Tsuyoshi Kusanagi was being rowdy and he was taken into custody soon after.

When I googled his name to see how he look like, I was very surprised to see that it was this guy below:

He acted in several popular Japanese TV dramas when I was in secondary school and I enjoyed watching him in those shows. He projected such a squeaky clean image that it was hard to reconcile with the scandal that has tarnished his image beyond repair.

Reports stated that several commercials starring him were dropped and brands like Toyota also dropped him as their ambassador.

Now the public are waiting to see if he would be charged with public indecency despite that he's a big star in Japan. Big star or not, that kind of behaviour is simply not acceptable in Japan. If it happens in the West, then he would probably be let off with a warning but he wasn't.

Stars these days are in the news for all the wrong reasons and no wonder they get so much flak. Anyway I rarely watch TV shows these days. Animes are my obsession and so do mangas. These mediums carry no real human images, only drawings so I guess I'm pretty weird.

=D

Anime Watch: Kuroshitsuij Episode 24 Subbed Version Up

Finally the subbed version for Kuroshitsuji episode 24 is out for viewing. Here it is:

Watch Kuroshitsuji-24 FINAL!!! [Sub Eng] in Anime | View More Free Videos Online at Veoh.com

I am so sad that this anime has ended. It's one of the animes that I look forward to every week. However the ending leaves much to be desired. There are so many loopholes in this episode that I suspect the anime company might be aiming for a second season. If that's the case, I'm all for it.

I can never get enough of Kuroshitsuji and thankfully, the manga is still ongoing. According to the mangaka, her ending will definitely be different from the anime's ending. Well, I certainly hope so. Plus there is no angel arc in the manga version and that's a relief.

Imagine having a she-male for an angel, which is supposed to be a symbol of god. Plus this she-male has the hots for the demon butler, Sebastian. Poor Sebastian got his left arm cut off by the angel in this episode and the arm doesn't seem to grow back.

I wonder what's Sebastian's true form looks like, be it manga or anime. Both did not show Sebastian in his full form. Even Ciel in the anime version is not allowed to look at Sebastian's real form. Is it really that terrifying?

One thing for sure, Sebastian wears black heels in his real form. This is shown in both the manga as well as the anime.

Somehow I feel that the ending is somewhat hastily done and with the blackout scene, I don't know whether Ciel's soul is truly taken by Sebastian or not. Plus I want to know what will happen to Ciel's servants? Did they perish together with Pluto?

So many questions left answered. I hope a second season will come soon. If not, then a remake better be in the works. But the reality is that animes always differ from the manga source. So this might truly be the real end for the anime series.

I was so sad when it all finally comes to an end. I hope the subbed version will be out soon as there are many missing points that I want to know in this episode. Oh man, I have no more Kuroshitsuji anime to look forward to anymore.
